Toronto Maple Leafs Took A Massive Loss In Do-Or-Die Game Against The Habs

Toronto Maple Leafs had one job and that job was to win Game 7 against the Montreal Canadiens.

However, the team sadly could not get it done and Habs pulled through with a 3-1 comeback against the Leafs.

The Habs came out strong at the beginning of the first period.

Montreal scored 16:57 with a goal in the 2nd period by Brendan Gallagher.

The Edmonton native gave the Habs a strong lead against the Leafs.

At 4:36 in the second period Corey Perry scored a second goal on a powerplay.

Tyler Toffoli put the nail in the coffin during the last period giving the Habs a 3-0 lead.

In the final two minutes, Leafs winger William Nylander scored giving the Leafs a point.

The Leafs were missing a key piece on the ice, their team Captain John Tavares. Tavares suffered a major injury in the first game of the playoffs.

Unfortunately, some Leafs fans already took defeat over social media after Gallagher’s first goal.

Leaf fans were a little jittery before the start of Game 7. In fact, some were quite wary of their performance going into the final game.

Yet some fans, regardless of the outcome, were proud of the boys.

“We are very proud of their performance in the regular season, all the rebuilding has paid off to see them place first in the north was truly amazing,” one Twitter user said.

Game 7 was quite special, especially for healthcare workers. The Ford government allowed 550 fans to attend the game to show appreciation for their hard work during the pandemic.

Just before the puck dropped both teams stood in silence to pay their respects with all Indigenous communities after the horrific findings of 215 children found buried at a residential school in B.C.
